Vikita Poindexter - Financial Clarity, Profitability & Business Resilience with CPA Harsh Jadhav
I think the biggest blind spot is that many owners don’t actually know their numbers and where they make money. Small business owners know their sales figures and how much is in the bank, but they don’t always know whether they are profitable. You have to dig deep to understand your gross profit margins, your true inventory or service costs, and profitability by service line, customer, or project. Nobody started a plumbing company, medical practice, or construction business because they dreamed about reading financial statements. But the numbers tell a story. I’ll sit down with a business owner who’s doing $3 million a year, working nonstop, stressed out every day, and when we dig into the numbers, we find out 20% of their customers are creating 80% of their headaches and barely any profit. Another huge blind spot is cash flow timing. A business can look profitable on paper and still be starving for cash because money is coming in too slowly while payroll, taxes, vendors, and debt payments keep hitting every month.
